I just got a signature on my guitar i need help restoring it?

i just got a signature on my guitar and i can tell it is going to ware off if i dont do something about it.. is there any cheap items i can buy kinda like a clear plastic sticker that i can put on it or anything?

Where is the sig located? Is it on the pick guard or the body? What kind of finish does the guitar have? Try to put a light coat of lacquer (clear coat) on it to protect it (if it is on the body).

1984 $35.99 At the time of its release, much of the fuss surrounding 1984 involved Van Halen’s adoption of synthesizers on this, their sixth album — a hoopla that was a bit of a red herring since the band had been layering in synths since their third album, Women and Children First. Those synths were either buried beneath guitars or used as texture, even on instrumentals where they were the main instrument, but here they were pushed to the forefront on “Jump,” the album’s first single and one of the chief reasons this became a blockbuster, crossing over to pop audiences Van Halen had flirted with before but had never quite won over. Of course, the mere addition of a synth wasn’t enough to rope in fair-weather fans — they needed pop hooks and pop songs, which 1984 had, most gloriously on the exuberant, timeless “Jump.” There, the synths played a circular riff that wouldn’t have sounded as overpowering on guitar, but the band didn’t dispense with their signature monolithic, pulsating rock. Alex Van Halen and Michael Anthony grounded the song, keeping it from floating to pop, and David Lee Roth simply exploded with boundless energy, making this seem rock & roll no matter how close it got to pop. And “Jump” was about as close as 1984 got to pop, as the other seven songs — with the exception of “I’ll Wait,” which rides along on a synth riff as chilly as “Jump” is warm — are heavy rock, capturing the same fiery band that’s been performing with a brutal intensity since Women and Children First. But where those albums placed an emphasis on the band’s attack, this places an emphasis on the songs, and they’re uniformly terrific, the best set of original tunes Van Halen ever had. Surely, the anthems “Panama” and “Hot for Teacher” grab center stage — how could they not, when the former is the band’s signature sound elevated to performance art, with the latter being as lean and giddy, their one anthem that could be credibly covered by garage rockers? — but “Top Jimmy…

Crossword Puzzle $7.99 Crossword Puzzle was the eighth LP from the Partridge Family — a multimedia, made-for-TV project that hit marketing pay dirt learning lessons from the success of the Monkees’ manufactured origins, as well as the real-life pop/rock family the Cowsills. As a weekly prime time sitcom, The Partridge Family ran on ABC-TV from September 25, 1970, through August 31, 1974. As musical artists, they further mimicked the Monkees’ phenomenon by having primary cast members — in this case, Shirley Jones (vocals) and David Cassidy (vocals) — as the group’s lead vocalists. Accompanying Cassidy and Jones was a veritable who’s who of studio heavyweights such as Hal Blaine (drums), Larry Carlton (guitar), Joe Osborne (bass), and Larry Knechtel (keyboards). They were joined by the painfully sweet backing vocals of the six-member Love Generation, who participated to some degree on every one of the Partridge Family’s LPs. Judging by not only the lackluster chart performance (number 146), but also the complete absence of a 45 rpm single in the States, it is fair to say all remaining vestiges of Partridge-mania were becoming significantly depleted. For the most part, the formulaic unaffected pop song style of Wes Farrell, Terry Cashman, and Tommy West had grown stale. In fact the best material on Crossword Puzzle comes from Tony Romeo’s lush emotive ballad “As Long as There’s You,” which points in the direction of Cassidy’s solo efforts. Of the lighter fare, another Romeo tune, “It Means I’m in Love With You,” has an airy bubblegum lilt that glides through the catchy melody. These highlights detract from the simply awful “Let Your Love Go” or the half-baked “It’s a Long Way to Heaven” — both of which are little more than mediocre filler. Dreams So Real $11.99 Performing the intricate music of Carla Bley is no mean feat, but if anyone is up for the challenge, it would be vibraphonist Gary Burton. Signifying a high watermark in his career in the mid-’70s, Dreams So Real teams Burton with his fellow professor at the Berklee College of Music Mick Goodrick, along with recently graduated student Pat Metheny. Add the peerless electric bass guitarist Steve Swallow and always proficient drummer Bob Moses, and you have the makings of a short-lived supergroup capable of playing Bley’s memorable, melancholy music. While generally regarded as one of many Burton/Metheny pairings, it is Goodrick’s individualism (it was he who primarily tutored Metheny) that needs more recognition. With Goodrick on electric six-string and Metheny on electric 12-string guitar, the sonorities they establish allow Burton to freely discourse on Bley’s prickly angular melodies. The brittle and fractured combo track “Ictus/Syndrome” — closer to a three-piece suite — goes from a frantic neo-bop meter to straight-ahead swing with a clearly inspired Burton rambling into the bright signature rondo sound that Metheny and Swallow have always owned. “Syndrome” might also be familiar to Bley’s fans as “Wrong Key Donkey.” “Doctor” merges the vibes and guitars into a guided prognosis of hypertension within slowly elevated blood pressure levels. “Intermission Music,” inspired by golden age films, is a beautiful waltz vehicle for the guitars rhythmically, and for Swallow and Moses melodically. With the bandmembers at their most passionate, the title track is a lighthearted but cerebral ballad, “Vox Humana” a simplified tango, while “Jesus Maria” evokes the delicate epic strains of Bley’s personalized sound with Burton playing it alone. While the singing sound of Metheny is in its infant stages, it is easily recognizable and clearly realized.
